strategic initiative led by the United Steelworkers
and Sierra Club and including many other "blue"
(read: blue collar/labor) and "green" (read: environmental)
partners. The alliance focuses on three key issues:
  • Global Warming and Clean Energy;
  • Fair Trade; and
  • Reducing Toxics.

Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnership (NEEP)

Northwest Energy Codes Group

Washington State University Extension Energy Program represents regional interests in the development and implementation of energy codes. The Northwest Energy Code Group has submitted the following proposals to the ICC for consideration during the in the 2008 code development cycle.

American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment

The American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

New Buildings Institute

Our original office sits in the small community of White Salmon, Washington, in the scenic Columbia River Gorge just 60 miles east of Portland, Oregon. We recently added a second location, this one in an historic brick building in downtown Vancouver, Washington. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation in 1997, NBI works with national, regional, state and utility groups to promote improved energy performance in commercial new construction.

The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association of U.S. shareholder-owned electric companies. Our members serve 95 percent of the ultimate customers in the shareholder-owned segment of the industry, and represent approximately 70 percent of the U.S. electric power industry.
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA)

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is the national service organization dedicated to representing the national interests of cooperative electric utilities and the consumers they serve. The NRECA Board of Directors oversees the association’s activities and consists of 47 members, one from each state in which there is an electric distribution cooperative.
American Public Power Association (APPA)

The American Public Power Association (APPA) is the service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community-owned electric utilities that serve more than 45 million Americans.
