Myth or Fact?
Energy efficiency doesn’t sell to home buyers and it doesn’t enhance the future sales price of the home.

Final Action Hearing RecommendationsEECC has carefully reviewed and evaluated each of the energy-related code proposals before the ICC’s Final Action Hearings to determine if the proposal improves energy efficiency under the code. Our voter’s guide to achieve the maximum boost in energy efficiency in the 2009 version of the IECC and IRC is available by clicking here now.

The 30% Solution

The 30% Solution can be described both in layman’s and technical terms.

Laymans’s Overview

Beginning as early as September 21st and ending by September 23rd, 2008, the International Code Council will vote on proposed amendments to the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC), the nationally recognized model energy efficiency code, in Minneapolis, MN. The product of this “Final Action Hearing” will become the 2009 IECC. This lengthy process began in 2007 with the submission of over 150 proposed amendments, the most comprehensive of which was drafted by the broad-based Energy Efficient Codes Coalition (EECC) to boost the energy efficiency of the 2009 IECC by 30% over the current model code. The EECC calls its proposal “The 30% Solution.”
